Here are the steps to Follow For the “MBBS admission in INDIA”

 

The first and foremost step for the MBBS in INDIA is NEET UG Form Filling 

  • Form Filling -  The first step is to fill the NEET UG form and fill all the basic details about yourself such as - 1. Qualification 2. Name 3. Date of Birth 4. Father and Mother's name. 

 

The NTA is a prime body that regulates the examination process for the NEET - UG examination in various states. Moreover, NTA is the sole authority of INDIA that is responsible for the main and important exams in INDIA. Every year, examination forms for the MBBS entrance release on the official website of NTA. 

The registration for NEET UG Form filling 2024 will be started on 1st week of April 2024. 

 

  • Appear for the NEET exam - The next step for the candidate is to appear for the NEET exam and qualify the exam. NEET exam scores determine your ranks and college according to your rank in the exam.

  • Seat allotment - In accordance with your NEET rank, you will now be allocated a medical seat in a medical university. The authority will notify you about the seat allotment process.

What is the NEET-UG Counselling Process?

The process of counselling begins after the NEET Result is announced, which is an important step for students. Counselling plays a crucial role in guiding students after the NEET Result by helping them understand their options and providing career guidance. It helps students explore different medical colleges and courses, understand admission procedures, and address any concerns or doubts they may have.

As soon as, result is declared the candidate has the two options either apply for the state counselling or the centralised counselling process. 

The basic difference between these boards is the participation of colleges. 

 

  • Centralised Counselling Process : Centralised Counselling Process is the main counselling process for the MBBS admission in INDIA. Because, the Centralised Counselling Process streamlines the admission process by centralising the allocation of seats and reducing the administrative burden on individual institutions. And, it is also a mandatory process for states to fix some numbers of seats, so every Indian medical student has the opportunity to get admission in the specific university. 

 

Seat Details of Centralised Counseling Process : 

 

  • Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is solely responsible for the admission process under the centralised counselling process : 

 

  1. 15% All India Quota (AIQ) - At all government medical colleges in the state, 15% of seats are available under the All India Quota seat. And, the remaining 85% of seats are part of the state counselling process, that are reserved for the domiciled students for the respective state.

 

  1. 100% Deemed University

  2. 100% AIIMS

  3. 100% BHU

  4. 100% JIPMER (Internal and open seats)

  5. 50% Open AMU 

  6. 50% International

  7. 85% DU, VNMC and RML. 

 

Private medical colleges are not included in the Centralised admission counselling process, to take admission in the private medical college, you are required to participate in the “State Counseling Process”. Across different states, this process applies to all INDIA Quota Seats in government medical colleges. Candidates can register, fill in their choice of colleges and courses.

 

  • State Counseling Process : The second option is to participate in the counselling process conducted by the respective state counselling authorities. Where you have the option of participation for 85% of seats in government colleges and 100% of seats in private medical colleges. Upon, these seats only domiciled students are eligible for the For eg. - A Haryana resident who wishes to take admission in a private medical college in Uttar Pradesh may only apply on the 100% seats of the private medical colleges.

 

And to take admission in the government medical colleges, you can only apply on the All India Quota (AIQ) seats.

 

During the NEET counselling process, 85% of the domiciled seats are reserved for the students of the respective states. All these students are eligible to participate in the counselling. The seat sharing regulations vary from state to state when it comes to 100% of seats in private medical colleges.
