In its early years of foundation, Kazan Federal University was known as Kazan Imperial University until 1925. In 1925, the Kazan Imperial University was renamed Kazan State University after Vladimir Ulyanov Lenin, one of the famous students of the University.
In 2010, Kazan State University was granted the status of Federal University by the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation. *Students must have completed their 12th from a recognized board (CBSE/ ICSE/ISC, etc) and must have passed in all the subjects.
*Qualifying NEET is mandatory before taking admission in a medical university in Russia if the student wishes to practise medicine in India after completing their MBBS in Russia.
* Student must have a age of 17 years before 31st December of the year of Admission.
Entrance Exam at Kazan Federal University
All applicants who wish to pursue General Medicine from Kazan Federal University must pass an entrance examination prior to their admission.
This examination consists of three parts: English language test for foreign students and two basic tests consisting of significant subjects in your academic field. For international students who wish to pursue MBBS from Kazan Federal University, they have to pass Chemistry and Biology MCQ-based entrance examination. These entrance exams are based on your basic knowledge in subjects and to test your English language.
The new academic calender for students starts from September 1 which means students need to pass their entrance exam prior to that.

But the city experiences lot of rain even in the driest months of the year. The warmest month of the year is usually in July which averages around 20°C and the lowest temperature is seen in January around -10°C which is very comfortable and enjoyable temperature if layered with good warm clothes.
Students do not face any problems inside any buildings or transport of the city since the buildings and public transports are centrally heated during winters. All buildings are heated to temperature around 20°C to 22°C.
